European side identify replacement for £10m star after January transfer links with Leeds United

Daniel Farke’s old side identify replacement for £10m-rated target
For Andrew Omobamidele, Leeds has started negotiations. However, another player on the shortlist has just finished the last 18 months of his contract with a team that is aiming for European qualifying at the end of the current campaign.
Farke and Nico Elvedi getting back together is something Leeds is also considering. The Switzerland star is still a vital member of Gladbach, Farke’s former squad, and was Wober’s teammate when he was on loan there the previous season.
Farke is eager to sign Elvedi “now,” and it is estimated that he would cost £10 million.Gladbach has reportedly found a replacement for Elvedi in Groningen defender Kevin Diks, according to Frankfurter Rundschau.
Elvedi’s unavoidable position, however, is also revealed in the report: he would like to remain with his current team while they compete for Europe in the Bundesliga rather than drop into the Championship.

Nico Elvedi prefers Leeds to a current Premier League side
Elvedi may decide to stay with Leeds rather than Wolves in the summer, but he does prefer Leeds to Wolves. Elvedi nearly joined Wolves in the summer of 2023, and he is just 14 games away from becoming the most appearances player in Gladbach history, trailing only fellow countryman Yann Sommer. Elvedi has amassed a staggering 312 appearances in his nine years with the Bundesliga team, so he may decide to stay.
