Together, two former Barcelona attacking players scored a fantastic goal in Major League Soccer this week.
Lionel Messi and Luis Suárez are the two in question.
It goes without saying that Messi and Suárez are both currently playing for Inter Miami, owned by David Beckham, in the USA.
As Inter hosted Sporting KC in the Concacaf Champions Cup early on Wednesday, the South American pair was in from the start once again.
Additionally, Messi and Suárez both scored goals on the way to a final 3-1 victory.
Once partner-in-crime Suárez found him with a deft pass to the edge of the penalty box, the former scored a particularly visually appealing goal.
Messi then brought the ball down on his chest and fired an incredible half-volley into the near corner.

In the second leg of the CONCACAF Champions Cup’s first round, Inter Miami defeated Sporting Kansas City 3-1 on Tuesday night, with Lionel Messi opening the scoring with a brilliant goal in the 19th minute.
Along with goals from Luis Suárez and Tadeo Allende, Inter Miami advanced with a 4-1 aggregate to play Cavalier FC, the Jamaica Premier League champion, in the round of 16 on March 6. In Miami’s 1-0 victory over Kansas City in the first leg on Wednesday, Messi also scored.
The first goal of 2025 for Kansas City was scored by Memo Rodríguez.
Although Kansas City had most of the early opportunities, with six shots and three on goal, Miami scored on all three of its first-half attempts.
In order to handle Suárez’s pass off his chest and fire it past John Pulskamp into the bottom right corner, Messi snuck a through ball to Suárez. Messi also set up Miami’s second goal in the 45th minute when he sent a superbly placed ball in Jordi Alba’s path, who then found Allende for the finish.
Two minutes later, Suárez scored a challenging goal that rebounded past Pulskamp after Jacob Davis of Kansas City misplayed a touch.
“There is this level of quality that guys like Messi, Suarez (bring),” Kansas City coach Peter Vermes said. “They know the moments in the game. They just know them. They operate at such a different level than other players, and they’ve done it at all leagues and levels. … If you let them get ahead of you, the game can open up because with one chance they can break you.” The 37-year-old Messi, who played every minute in Miami’s first two matches, checked out in the 69th minute on Tuesday. Suárez and veteran Sergio Busquets each played 81 minutes. Miami coach Javier Mascherano said he talked to his veterans about managing their minutes throughout the season to keep them healthy.
As a result, younger players like Allende, 26, were able to contribute.
Mascherano remarked of Miami’s young players, “We believe in them and will try to push them as much as we can this season.” Naturally, I enjoy working with the more experienced players, but I also know that the younger players can contribute significantly.
